She then gained practical experience in industrial environmental protection in the fields of water protection and site remediation in combination with the pertinent environmental law with an energy company in Duisburg.
In 2009, she obtained her doctorate at the University Duisburg-Essen with a thesis on "Effects of electrical polarization on bacterial primary adhesion and biofilm formation on electrically conductive surfaces". She prepared this interdisciplinary thesis in cooperation with DECHEMA e.V. at the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Institut für Wasserforschung gGmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr and at the Biofilm Centre in Duisburg. Work on her doctoral thesis was supported by a doctoral scholarship from the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt.
Dr. Heide is currently being trained in Intellectual Property in our firm, and is studying General Law for Patent Attorneys at the Fern-Universität Hagen.
